Big Band

Big Band will be a flexibly scored outfit focused on World Musics as well as Jazz. This will mean that players of instruments outside of the usual Big Band line-up will be welcome, although the backbone will be the standard trumpets/ saxes/ rhythm section line-up.

Big Band arrangements are fully scored, and suitable for players who are reasonably confident readers, the harder ‘New York Session Player’ style charts has been avoided.

There is also the opportunity to take part as a vocalist, with vocal arrangements in a more conventional swing style; you do not have to enrol for the 'Jazz Vocal' course for this.
