Big Band

Due to the spread of players at the school, working with conventional swing band arrangements has proved problematic, mainly due to a lack of trombones, so this year Big Band will be a more flexible outfit focused on World Musics as well as Jazz. This will mean that players of instruments outside of the usual Big Band line-up will be welcome, provided I have a few weeks’ notice in order to output the appropriate parts, tho the backbone will be the standard trumpets/ saxes/ rhythm section line-up. I also have some vocal arrangements in a more conventional swing style, which we can tackle if we can rustle up some suitable vocalists (NB: you do not have to enrol for the 'Jazz Vocal' course for this).
